VISION
To be a transformative force in Ghana’s education landscape, inspiring a future where every child has the opportunity to access quality education, excel, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world.
MISSION
To empower Ghanaian learners by supporting equitable access to quality education, strengthening innovative teaching practices, and building sustainable community partnerships that enhance student achievement and lifelong success.
THE HEART OF OUR MISSION
We partner with schools, communities, government, and donors to create lasting change – because when children are equipped with knowledge and opportunity, they become the driving force of Ghana’s future.
From teacher training workshops to classrooms in public schools, from investing in the education of future teachers to advocacy forums, we see potential multiplied daily as people are equipped and inspired to shape a better Ghana.
Our Founder’s Story
The Charles Yeboah Educational Foundation did not begin with a board meeting or a strategy document. It began with a memory, stemming from a deep personal journey. One shaped by perseverance and determination, the generosity of others, and a firm belief in the transformative power of education.
Growing up, Dr. Yeboah did not have guaranteed access to quality education. The path that led him through secondary school, university, and post-graduate studies in the United States was made possible in part by the generosity of individuals outside of his family who chose to invest in someone else’s potential and future. This experience did not merely shape his trajectory. They defined his purpose.
Today, Dr. Yeboah is recognised as one of the visionary leaders of education in Ghana and around the world – through the school he and his wife founded (International Community Schools Ghana) and the numerous roles he has played in education, both locally and internationally. He is, however, aware that this recognition is also a by-product of countless contributions made by others towards him. He is reminded daily that not every child in Ghana has access to the quality of education that schools like ICS provide, yet every Ghanaian child deserves that access.
Inspired by the extraordinary examples set by global philanthropists like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett – who have pledged to give away a significant portion of their net worth to support education and other causes – Dr. Yeboah is committing a significant portion of his own net worth to this Foundation.
The guiding philosophy of the Charles Yeboah Educational Foundation is simple: “Do for others what others have done for you.” His call is for Ghana and all of Africa to rise to this same spirit of generosity – giving not only to our families, but to the communities and societies that have contributed to our success.
OUR VALUES
Our values are not words on a wall. They define how we think, act, and serve – shaping our relationships, our work, and every decision we make. They are lived out daily across our programmes and partnerships, always with the children we serve at the centre.
Equity
Every child, regardless of background, deserves access to quality education. This is not an aspiration – it is the premise of everything we do.
Integrity
We operate with transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.
Excellence
We set high standards for our programmes, our partners, and ourselves – because the children we serve deserve nothing less.
Innovation
We champion creative, evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning that push beyond convention.
Gratitude
We act from a deep sense of gratitude, giving back as others have given to us. This is the Foundation’s heartbeat.
Sustainability
We invest in solutions designed to create lasting change – not dependence. Every programme is built to outlast our involvement.
Compassion & Kindness
Teachers who lead with compassion create environments where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered. We hold this conviction at the core of our educator development work.
Collaboration
We believe in the power of partnerships – with communities, government, schools, and donors – to achieve what no single actor can alone.
